Now Hiring - Sales Tax Manager in Boulder, CO

Our company offers affordable storage units at over 2200 facilities in 41 states. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sales Tax Manager to join our team. The Sales Tax Manager will be responsible for leading the department in all facets of sales tax compliance, audits, research, and planning. This is a managerial position within the Tax Department.

This role is fully onsite in Salt Lake City, UT.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the sales tax reporting process, including filing of returns and making payments
• Ensure compliance with sales tax requirements for all properties (licenses, applications, tax rates)
• Monitor and analyze changes in sales tax laws and regulations across the US and provide recommendations to address any potential impact
• Oversee sales and use tax audits, including working directly with the auditor throughout the audit process
• Collaborate with operations and finance teams on sales and use tax compliance
• Identify areas for process, systems, and reporting improvements to ensure Company compliance with tax regulations and reduce exposure for any unpaid sales and use tax
• Provide training and guidance to Sales Tax Analyst

Job Specifications

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of computer related skills and accounting systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat
• Working knowledge of accounting software/systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX
• Strong analytical, project management, and prioritization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated with confidence to independently address issues
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field required
• Master’s Degree or CPA license preferred (not required)
• Three plus years of relevant sales and use tax experience
